Our Golf Course
Background:
At Butler's, we have 36 well-maintained and challenging holes, with the Woodside 18 and the Lakeside 18. We're in Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County, and Butler is a family name -- John Butler opened the original 18 in 1928, and the course continues with 3rd and 4th generation ownership. 9 additional holes opened in 1963, and our 4th nine opened on June 22, 2000 -- see construction photos or more about our history.
Our courses today:
Compare the two courses or try to decide which to play by looking over our descriptive chart. You'll enjoy some breathtaking vistas, especially on the back 9's. You can make tee times up to eight days in advance. Our tees, greens, and fairways are fully watered. There are refreshment stands on both courses, and all carts have roofs. See the menu items at the left for details like yardages, greens fees (including senior, junior, family, and late day specials), and course layouts. You can enjoy savings with our free Frequent Play Card and email deals. Enjoy delicious pancakes, hamburgers, soups, dinners and daily specials in our restaurant, the Rock Run Inn. You can even stay overnight at our B&B.
More ways to play:
Many of Butler's 60 leagues welcome new players (women, men & couples; beginners to serious players), and we'll help to match you up with one so you can get out regularly. We also hold several tournaments.
Groups of 20 to 144 are welcome to enjoy outings, from simple tee times (nice for traveling leagues) to full red-carpet golf festivals. Shotgun starts are available at selected times everyday. Delicious meals are optional, and can be served at the picnic area or in the banquet room. Butler's outing specialists offer step-by-step help, and you can build your own pricing plus see all the details -- on our website. Call 412-751-1070 for more information.
Butler's is a beginner-friendly certified course, and one tee is even reserved for novices every Thursday at 7:00 pm. Quick Start group lessons are taught by pros and are designed to allow new players to become comfortable on the course just com
mit to three hour-long sessions and you're off to a great start. You can also brush up at Butler's all-grass Practice Area. Private lessons are also a great way to take strokes off your game. Click for bios about our instructors. We host school golf teams -- currently EF boys and girls and TJ boys.
