Golf Leagues

Over 60 leagues play weekly at Butler's, and they encompass many different types of groups (men, women, workplaces, churches, neighborhoods, couples, seniors, beginners) -- click to see schedule. Rotating nines each week has been a big success since 2002, so it is here to stay. Click to see our league brochure for details about this and about league perks. Check out the details about our Annual League Challenge Tournament. Some league players are colleagues from work, neighbors, former golf lesson students, and some are all men, all women, juniors, and all couples. Some leagues are highly competitive and organized, while others simply use the time to gather, golf, and socialize. We have morning and evening leagues, and most play 9 holes (some play 18 holes).

Are you hoping to join a league? We're pairing individuals with existing leagues.

  • Let us know your name, phone number, and days and times that fit your schedule -- just call or email and we'll fill out a form with your information. Please make sure to let us know your phone number.
  • We have a list of leagues who are looking for members, including several new beginners' leagues.

We're looking for new leagues:

If you would like to start your own new league, we'll be glad to help you get started. The most popular times are filled, so we're offering a special bonus for groups who play between 12:30 and 3:00 on weekdays. Just contact the Golf Shop at (412) 751-9121.

Tips for less stressful play on Lakeside:

1) Keep in mind that the yardage for Lakeside is less than Woodside. Click here to see all yardages.

2) It's not our job to tell anyone to play from specific tees. We like to say that you should play from whichever tees are the most comfortable for you. Feel free to make a league or personal rule to play from any or all of the alternate tee markers (black markers):

  1. #9 - When using the drop tee, save 33 yards and avoid the lake. It's 112 yards from the drop tee.
  2. #10 -- When using the alternate tee, save 132 yards and avoid the creek. It's 252 yards from the alternate tee.
  3. When using the drop tee, you don't have to hit over the lake. The yardage is similar.

3) If you like to walk, you can take a courtesy cart to #10 tee on the Lakeside Course. Park it above #18 green (far enough away so that it won't get hit or distract golfers), take the key, and bring the cart in after playing.
